To me, art is a form of self-reflection, a way to look back on my own mental health and share my emotional experiences with others. In this way, it is also a form of self-care. When I hear people say my art disturbs them, moves them, makes them think or feel in any way, I feel validated.
My digital illustrations are dark in tone as well as in colour; I find myself attracted to dark, minimalist backgrounds and brightly lit figures. These dream-like, sometimes surreal pieces can transport you to another world. This other world might not always be happy, and sometimes these dreams can seem more nightmarish, but I think that journey is just as valuable.
